Plastic Packaging for Food and FMCG Businesses

Food and FMCG packaging has to clear a bar that other sectors do not: the material must be food grade, the seal has to protect shelf life reliably, and the pack has to survive a distribution chain that is rarely gentle.

We supply bottles and jars for selected food and FMCG applications — edible oils, sauces, syrups, beverages, powders and spices. Which applications we can serve depends on your specific product, so we would rather discuss it than promise blanket suitability.

What drives the specification

Choosing packaging for food & fmcg

These are the factors that most often decide whether a pack works in this sector — and the ones we ask about first.

Food-grade material

Food-grade PET and HDPE are available and are the standard for this category. Tell us the product at the enquiry stage so material and documentation are sourced correctly.

Shelf life and sealing

Induction seals and tamper-evident closures do the real work of protecting shelf life. Specify the closure alongside the container, never afterwards.

Fill temperature

Hot-fill and warm-fill products constrain the material choice significantly. If your process involves heat, say so early — it changes the recommendation.

Weight versus volume

Powders and granules are sold by weight but packed by volume. Bulk density has to be accounted for when sizing a jar, or the pack looks underfilled.

Suitability always depends on your specific formulation, fill process and storage conditions. We recommend confirming compatibility with samples before committing to a bulk order.

Typical packaging requirements

  • Edible oil in 500 ml – 5 litre packs
  • Sauces, syrups and condiments in PET bottles
  • Beverages in clear PET with tamper-evident caps
  • Spices, powders and dry mixes in wide-mouth jars
  • Supplement and health food packs

Food & FMCG packaging — frequently asked questions

Is your packaging food grade?

Food-grade material options are available and are standard for food and beverage applications. Suitability is product-specific, so tell us exactly what is going into the pack and we will source against that and share the documentation the manufacturer provides.

Can you supply packaging for hot-fill products?

Hot-fill changes the material requirement materially. Tell us the fill temperature and dwell time at the enquiry stage and we will recommend options suited to it rather than a standard cold-fill pack.

How do I size a jar for a powder product?

Share the fill weight and the bulk density of the product if you know it. We will convert that into the right jar volume with a sensible headspace allowance so the pack looks properly filled.
